As part of their guest performance Continuing containing , Raz Mantell and Susanna Ylikoski offer a workshop on the themes and choreographic techniques they used in the creation of the piece. Tap, brush, slide, glide, rub, grab, and trace the various layers and tensions in the body, step back to the back of the mind and underneath.
In this workshop, we will focus on applying the wisdom that touch contains. We will work with self-touch, the touch of others, and a material-anatomical approach to the body. This practice is facilitated in a soft environment with open temporal and spatial frames. It is a weaving of various approaches to body treatments, improvisation, intuitive writing, drawing, neuroscience, Daoism, and Zen meditation.
The participants are invited to playfully tap, brush, slide, glide, rub, grab, and trace the various layers and tensions in the body, like stepping back to the back of the mind and underneath. We will work in a frame that invites you to access all your know-how, how to implement it, and to observe what unlocks and unfolds in your body.
It is to learn to enjoy the freedom of the container of your body: its appetites, interests, and interpretations. This workshop is open for all ages, backgrounds, and genders.
