Their purpose is to create positive experiences that develop appropriate leisure and social skills in participants. By developing these skills, participants can become increasingly self-confident, courageous, and independent. Staff are unable to provide personal care, and caregivers are encouraged to accompany participants who need personal care and behavioral assistance.
