So people in the town are shocked to hear of the arrests of four women from Cayuga County who allegedly operated a prostitution service catering to migrant farm workers covering four counties.
Preble Supervisor Betty Ann Pitman says: "It's really a shock to all the people because we have nothing like that here. We've got a nice quiet friendly community. Earlier this month, Cortland County Sheriff's deputies were called to a home outside Preble where three migrant workers told them they had been robbed of dollars by two women. Sergeant Boice says he soon realized he was dealing with a prostitution ring with a specific clientele. Besides Sannon Terwilliger, three Auburn women: 19 year old Wendy Brewer, 20 year old Lisa Dennis and 31 year old Amie Shaffer face a variety of prostitution related charges.
