I've only had my hero 9 for 3 months. First two months no issues except for over heating once or twice when it was 95 degrees outside. Now for the past month it constantly freezes up while recording video. No error message it just freezes up and I can't do anything with the camera, can't even turn it off. The only way to get it working again is to take it off it's mount, remove the media mod, pull the battery, and then put it all back together again.
And of course when I have to pull the battery I lose the video I was shooting because it didn't save because it was frozen up. I tired of losing videos or having to reshoot videos. I'm just using the gopro on a tripod shooting videos of my car.
Nothing crazy here. So why does the hero 9 keep freezing up and how can I fix this issue? Do you observe the same when the camera is plugged in without the battery? Check out the steps on. If it's still the same, please reach out to our Support Team through.
I'm using the card that came with the camera when I bought it from gopro. I've never tried using the camera plugged in. I only plug it in to charge the battery or off load videos to my computer.
I have the latest software for the hero 9 black already, but there are a few things in that article that I'll give a try. Thanks for the info. Tried all the recomendations and the dam thing still froze up today. I started recording and 17 seconds later it freezes up.
