A San Bernardino man has been charged with two counts of murder after police say he intentionally crashed into a car occupied by his wife and her lover, sending the car plummeting into a flood control channel in San Bernardino. Isaac Albert Perez, 31, pleaded not guilty to both charges on Tuesday, Jan. A judge denied the request, records show. Guercy and the man, whose name has not been publicly announced, were pronounced dead at the scene, the San Bernardino Police Department said in a news release.
Nelson Carrington, a Police Department spokesman, said Perez had confronted his wife and the man, with whom she was having an extramarital affair, at Perris Hill Park just after midnight on Jan. Guercy and the man then drove off, with the man behind the wheel, Carrington said. About a half mile later, at Perris Hill Park Road and Pacific Street, Perez rear-ended their car, sending it through the chain-link fence and into the narrow channel, Carrington said.
Their causes of death have not been announced. Perez was booked into West Valley Detention Center, where he is being held without bail. He is due back in court on Feb.
