JLNO was established in by a group of women dedicated to improving the Greater New Orleans area and recruited other women volunteers to join the Association of Junior Leagues International. Every woman in the greater New Orleans area should have the opportunity to live a healthy and successful life. JLNO focuses on advancing the wellbeing of women through the leadership and training of volunteers providing direct service, educating the community, and advocating for issues that affect women.
Through our volunteer outreach program, our members can share their time, training, skills, and leadership with your organization. Originally founded to raise awareness of diaper need and to provide diapers so that women caregivers could have a hand up to achieve personal economic freedom, the Bank now distributes period supplies and adult incontinence products. The Community Assistance Fund provides JLNO with a flexible means to grant money to nonprofit agencies that can effectively demonstrate that they have a need for funding and seek to advance the wellbeing of women.
