Bending fingers. Thread starter Grobble Start date Jun 28, Grobble New member. When I am trying to play a chord I find that my finger collapses down on the first joint instead of bending so that the tip is on the string properly.
I find it easier to hold the string down like that too but is it going to impede me if I keep doing it. I see that everyone else who plays holds their fingers curved as though around a ball.

Try pressing down with the very tip of your finger, just behind the nail, rather than the meaty part of the pad. You may find that hard to do, but you are developing a very bad habit that will definitely impede your playing in the future.
