Fire departments from across the country and even from central Texas rushed to California to help first responders contain these fires and help people evacuate. The crew said their job was to patrol fire lines, meaning any fires that have already passed through, in case of hot spots.
The crew said what keeps them going is the support from staff and knowing their family is counting on them back home. The city confirmed the fire team staffed a fire engine under the Emergency Management Assistance Compact request.
