Lewis had mistakenly forgotten the guitar in his car on Alexander Street in Sydney after a gig in the chaos of life with a new dog. As a musician my whole life, you search for that one instrument that fits you. You know its not going to let you down, Lewis said Monday morning after making a public plea to find his beloved Larrive Acoustic Series guitar.
My car was broken into and My Larrive Acoustic guitar was stolen last night. This is a special edition guitar and you wont find a lot of these around so if you see this guitar anywhere it is mine. Im hoping the more people share the post, it will eventually show up either on Marketplace, Kijiji or even the pawn shops. Lewis said hes had thefts before and recovered the items at pawn shops.
None were as sentimental as his prized guitar. The worst is I make my living as a musician. This is all I do to make money, to pay my bills and whatnot. And to have someone steal your tools, basically, they are stealing.
So what do you do? Lewis said. You just cant go to the music store and chuck down three or four thousand for a new guitar. You just cant do that. Its your tool of your trade, your go-to tool. Then someone basically steals your livelihood away in one night. Its a hard lesson but a reminder for people to double check they havent left valuables in their car. Theres always going to be thieves but if you dont leave them anything to steal, youre helping them and youre helping yourself, Lewis said.
