Useful Links. As a Federation, we have recently developed an exciting link with Mphnadika school in Zambia through the support of the Bath and Wells Diocese. Our Headteacher, Ms Joskey and the Headteacher of our link school, Mr Niyerenda, have been in touch with each other learning about the two schools via Whatsapp and email.
We have shared some of our books with the school as a gift. Our former specialist language teacher has visited this school in France. As a Christian school, some of our international work is linked with the church. This is now used to grow vegetables which are harvested in the autumn for our charity Harvest Lunch.
We regularly raise money for international charities and this gives us opportunity to deepen our knowledge and understanding of those whom our fundraising supports. Examples include the African child education projects through Comic Relief, Mary's Meals which supports our link Zambian School and Toilet twinning toilets across the school are twinned with toilets in developing countries which were funded through school donations.
This was first initiated when we were lucky enough to have new toilets in the lower school. We maximise opportunities for international curriculum enrichment and the pictures below give a flavour of international learning at Wrington.
An important part of our curriculum across our whole federation is the study of the UN Sustainable Goals for Development, originally inspired by two members of staff visiting the United Nations.
