Some of you may remember a few years ago when six-word memoirs became the rage. Supposedly this trend could be traced to an anecdote about Ernest Hemingway. Never worn. I thought it might be fun to try it for historical figures. But first let me give you some examples from Six-word Memoirs. They are funny, ironic, wry, poignant, tragic, playful, disillusioned, clever — in other words, they run the gambit of human emotions. Girls like boys. Boys died. Still sad. No babies for me.
A regretful life. Need editor. Had second thoughts. Failed poet. Unpublished prayers. The fallen kind. Should have worn my armor. Probably not a good idea. I win, Henry. That I loved Davydd. Much grief, few joys. It lasted too long. I did my duty. A butt of malmsey? You can write your own memoirs instead, if you wish. You may notice that I cravenly ducked that one. Have fun. At least my Joanna did not She slept with Will, but she loved Llywelyn. I like your memoir and think Eleanor would like hers. Since she led about half a dozen different lives in the course of her 80 years, she probably needs half a dozen memoirs.
