In , Charles Michelson obtained a concession to operate Radio Tangier. On February 6, , he obtained in compensation a five-year management contract for short waves at Radio Monte-Carlo. The management is majority owned by Sofirad and through it, by the French State. The opportunity is all the more interesting because on October 12, , the president of Sofirad Jacques Meyer announced to the board of directors of Radio Monte-Carlo that the French government was giving up on deploying RTF television.
