But the story goes even further. A Celtic pilgrimage on the Marienberg already existed before BC. Its reconstruction lasted for almost 40 years, but today it is radiant. Another attraction is the fortress of Marienberg, one of the city's landmarks, which is visible from afar. It was built around from the already mentioned Celtic Fliehburg and became the seat of the princely bishops, which was later replaced by the residence.

For example, in the Baroque the bridge gates and towers were demolished and in the 18th century the typical sacred figures were added. These include the Stadtwald as well as various parks and other green areas. It was created towards the end of the 19th century and is one of Germany's last well-preserved ring park facilities.
