Alternatively, upon leaving Oloron-Sainte-Marie, option 2 heads to Col de Labbays 1,m , continues on to Col de Soudet 1,m , and then after a rapid descent, rejoins the option 1 route for the climb up to Col Bagargui 1,m. Descend from there, entering the Navarre province in Spain. Pass through several small villages, reaching Puerto de Otxondo m , before the route leads back over the French border.
