Surely THIS Toronto police chief Bill Blair says the video cannot be released or described, and will be placed before the courts because some unnamed person will be charged with extortion.
While he never mentions the word "crack", he does say that the video is congruent with what has been described in the media and does not appear to have been doctored. A huge document dump read it all here as a page PDF this morning showed current Toronto mayor Rob Ford, under video and plane surveillance by Toronto police in Project Brazen 2, meeting several times a month with convicted criminal Alexander Lisi, a long time friend and part-time driver for Ford.
Ford previously criticized for writing a recommendation for Lisi after his conviction for threatening to kill a woman and Lisi would meet by driving their cars to an isolated location several times a week, leaving behind empty liquor bottles as they departed separately. In addition, on more than one occation, Ford would go to his favourite Tim's on a regular basis, and while he was in the store, Lisi would drop an unidentified package in his car.
Ten highlights from the documents. Listening to the press conference now: Blair has confirmed that Ford is in a video retrieved from a deleted file on a confiscated hard drive. He won't confirm what Ford is doing in the video: this will be brought out in court as an unnamed person is being charged with extortion.
He says that the video is "consistent with previous media reports". Bill Blair says that he is "disappointed" as a citizen of Toronto, but will not comment further. Ford has not been interviewed by the Toronto police. As mentioned above, it doesn't seem to be a doctored video. Well, there goes my work day. Yes, that's the afternoon gone.
