The Musikfest Stuttgart is a celebration of classical music put on by the International Bach Academy with performances from local and international talent, lectures, and more. Once a year, Stuttgart turns out for a night focused on art, history, and culture. A long list of museums, art galleries, historic buildings and monuments extend their opening hours till as late as AM.
For three weeks, millions enjoy performances, rides, goods, and of course, food and beer. Films are screened in Stuttgart, Reutlingen and Freiburg as well. The Kessel Festival is a sustainable music, culture, and sports festival that takes place on a weekend in June at the Canstatter Wasen. Stuttgart's African festival is a vibrant celebration with live music performances, dance shows, and African food.
Every year in July the Hamburg fish market comes to the center of Stuttgart for ten days with daily fresh fish and beer from the North of Germany. The Lichterfest offers a spectacular light show, magical forest, children's program, and live music in the park around the Killesberg Tower.
The event culminates in a fireworks show set to music. Stuttgart's Summer Festival of Cultures is an annual six-day event in July featuring free performances of international music.
Stuttgart's Bohnenviertelfest is a traditional street festival in July in a neighborhood full of art and handicrafts. Estival Esslingen is a summer festival bringing a delightful atmosphere to Esslingen's market square for nearly two weeks in August. The Stuttgart Flamenco Festival includes performances, the "Gala Flamenca", and workshops on flamenco technique and choreography.
