Many people are still trying to recover and rebuild their lives following the devastating tornado that ripped through part of Greensboro in April. Daniel Matthews lives on Lansdowne Avenue and says he just needs to have a few of his windows repaired in order for his home to be fully restored.
However, he says his neighborhood does not feel the same after several of his neighbors had to leave their homes following the storm. Laticia James used to rent a home on Eastwood Avenue and lived there with her boyfriend and two children. She says they had to live in a hotel and then with friends following the storm because the tornado severely damaged their house and destroyed nearly everything they owned.
While James says she is grateful for all of the resources her family has used during the recovery process, she says that the ongoing process has been extremely draining. However, the United Way of Greater Greensboro is still offering donations to people affected by the tornado.
