Post office account Leipzig No. Let us, my brothers, work with brave happy hearts even while we are living under a cloud, for we are working towards a great future. Let us assume that our goal is so clean, so bright, so free from slag as possible, for we are walking in ghost light and twilight and fog.
Between the middle and the end of March this event, in conjunction with music-, theatre- gymnastic- and weight-lifting- performances should give a comprehensive overview of everything achieved in our camp, and if it should turn out that most of our camp is to be wound down at the same time it should form a worthy conclusion. Unlike previous exhibitions, which were mainly focused on crafts, the school was able to take over an excellent space and make use of it to create a richer and more varied setting.
The three empty huts which were offered this time made it possible to clearly distribute the work on show and the administration understood how to give the whole thing an effective background using simple means โ woollen blankets and sprigs of fir. Fortunately, we see very few examples of that sort of thing now; in addition, everything that was garish or ornate in form and colour has given way to more beautiful and peaceful compositions. In the case of marquetry, the same variety of objects were displayed as previously: sewing boxes, jewellery cases, chess boards, picture frames, cigarette boxes and pin boards.
In addition, roughly the same things could be found using chip and relief carving. A powerfully formed clock face for a grandfather clock was a magnificent piece of work. Further wooden artefacts were lutes and guitars which were astonishingly finely executed.
We have already highlighted the development of bone carving see Number 2[16]. As well as condiment sets for salt, pepper and mustard, light stands, match boxes, cigar holders and pincushions which were relatively simple creations, there were also vases and napkin rings which were truly little works of art.
